Ballater is a picturesque village in the heart of Royal Deeside. Surrounded by the glorious countryside of the Cairngorms National Park and situated on the banks of the River Dee, Ballater is 43 miles (69 km) west of Aberdeen and 8 miles (13 km) from Balmoral Castle. Ballater is renowned for its royal connections and has many shops and businesses displaying the Royal warrants of the Queen and Prince Charles.
This web site is sponsored by the Ballater Business Association which works with businesses from Dinnet to Inver along the River Dee. This web site was launched in 2007 and since then our membership has increased from 60 to more than 80 businesses with details of all the members displayed on three major notice board locations in the centre of Ballater. We have links to sites with weather information, maps, history, special events such as Victoria Week and much more!
In 2010, plans for enhancing the web site include a link to a new site for Ballater with information of interest to all whether you are a resident or visitor. Our first step towards this new site is the Ballater Eagle which you can view here. Have a look and turn the pages of our local community magazine!
The members of the Ballater Business Association welcome you to Ballater,
“The Jewel of the Cairngorms”!
